Travel by Blades - Sahara crossing on Powerslide Inline skatesTravel by Blades - Sahara crossing on Powerslide Inline skates
5,000 kilometers on inline skates, from Madrid to Dakar. Crossing The Sahara desert, crossing Spain, Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal.
That does indeed sound like a big mission. The man behind Travel by Blades, Johann Camboulive, managed to not only skate this trip all by himself (and his beloved bamboo trailer called Misty), he also was able to film his trip, pushing through the Sahara desert on his Powerslide World Cup long distance inline skates.
And what for? Surpassing selfishness like borders and broken roads in the desert, Travel by Blades is based on a charity project called "Teach r.blade to senegalese children". This humanitarian action is also supported by ACCRO ROLLER, for the children of Apehs, Center Estel, SOS Senegal Children's Villages, Empire Children and Alefs. This project consists of distributing rollers kits to the different partner structures and introducing children to the basics of inline skating, bringing inline skating also to those who might have a hard time to afford this hobby. More infos about the charity project here: http://www.travelbyblades.com/en/pages/collecte/
Multiple road quality settings were demanding on his equipment so he went with nothing but the very best, Powerslide Marathon skates with Trinity frames, 3x125mm Matter Wheels, 2x150mm Roadrunner wheels & 150mm Powerslide air tires.
Sit back and press play to see some of the highlights from his trip, making new friends all around his way, pushing the boundaries of what is possible on inline skates. Chapeau, Johann!

Liberty Donkey Unicorning!Snow much with Walter and Willow!
Walter and Willow are two donkeys that I rescued 8 months ago, they originally came from Ireland, they were totally un-handled aka WILD ASSES! I was so proud of how they were able to have fun and hoon around in the snow with me on the Unicorn! I am going to train them to pull a cart in the future as I think its something they will enjoy. Donkeys night outWalter and Willow are my two rescue Donkeys, they were pretty wild when they arrived. Its early days and no better way to get to know them a little better than by taking them camping in the woods. We made a pen for the donkeys out of fallen wood we collected from the floor.

Horseboarding the Outer HebridesHere is my latest film from our adventure Horseboarding nearly 200 miles through the Outer Hebrides. During our trip we stop off at their ancestral home...The Isle of Eriskay to learn more about them. Thanks for watching!
Highlands Coast to CoastHere is a short film of my Highland Coast to Coast adventure. I bought two untrained / unbacked Highland ponies and took them across the Highlands of Scotland. I picked the ponies up from their breeder the day before our adventure started (not knowing them at all) and set off with the end goal of being able to ride and have them with me at Liberty. Over 10 days we made our way across in some tricky conditions. I carried all my food and kit and camped out along side my new ponies alone in the wilderness. Here is our journey.......
The Purrrfect Ride!
